Pesbukers to Stay on Air, Despite Olga’s Controversial Joke

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Comedian Olga Syahputra is again in trouble. According to Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI), Olga made a joke on the official Islamic way of greeting during the show of Pesbukers broadcasted by Antv on June 19. The show’s producer Rully Setia Herlambang said he hasn’t received any notification from KPI.

“For this Monday through Friday, the show will be on air live. Except for Saturday and Sunday where it will be previously recorded,” he said at Antv studio in Kuningan, Jakarta, June 26. Rully said that the artists actually receive an orientation. But it is not held all the time. “They should know about it.” The harassment was based on a scene where Julia Perez received a phone call from an audience by saying Assalamualaikum. Olga quickly responded with a joke, “Don’t say assalamualaikum, you sound like a beggar.” YAZIR FAROUK
