Pilot Complaints of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Tower
Thursday, 21 June, 2012 | 16:24 WIB
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Halfway through 2012, there were at least 40 complaints from airline companies at the air traffic controller. A source said the complaints varied. “There are complaints of serious incidents and small incidents,” said the source.
For instance, one of the complaints included a near crash between an AirAsia and Sriwijaya Air plane on May 24, and airlines’ complaints about disturbances during landing.
In addition, in mid-April, an Emirates aircraft from Dubai was planning to land in Cengkareng. The guide directed the pilot to descend via a designated path. However, the pilot refused. “According to the pilot the wind was too strong,” said Untari dewi, Emirates’ Airport Service officer. “If forced, the aircraft may have slid off course.”
