CNG Businesspeople Say They Are Capable of Building 200 Gas Stations
Friday, 01 June, 2012 | 16:55 WIB

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The Association of Indonesian Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Employers (APCNGI) has stated its capability to build 200 gas stations. However, in order to realize the investments, businesspeople are waiting for the government to reveal the terms and conditions.

“If the government is committed and willing to create certainty, the private sector will see this as a potential opportunity,” said APCNGI chairman Danny Praditya on Thursday.

The employers are currently waiting for confirmation on gas supply and gas refueling station locations, which the government is planning to develop and offer to private businesses. “We propose that remote areas be managed by the government and State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) while private companies take care of regions with captive markets,” Danny added.

Danny said that by offering the tender to private businesses, the government would be able to use its budget more efficiently. Danny pointed out that a gas refueling station would require Rp10 billion to Rp15 billion of investments excluding land lease.
