Minister Andi Denies Receiving Bribe during 10 Hours of Questioning

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questioned Youth and Sports Minister Andi Alfian Mallarangeng for ten hours about alleged bribery.

The minister denied that he had received Rp20-billion worth of bribe money in the case involving the construction of Hambalang Stadium at Bukit Hambalang, Bogor. “That’s not true,” said Minister Andi before leaving the KPK office on Thursday.

Andi said that he had given information about the project planning and construction. The minister also explained about the project budgeting, which cost Rp1.52 trillion. “Those were the main items in the questioning,” said Andi.

However, Andi did not specify what he had explained in terms of planning, construction and budgeting. When asked about the irregularities surrounding the project, Andi’s expression turned grim and he walked away from reporters.
