Mirwan Amir Admits His Resignation due to Legal Scrutiny
Friday, 25 May, 2012 | 12:38 WIB

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Democrat Party politician Mirwan Amir said that his removal from the deputy-chairman post at the House of Representatives’ (DPR) Budget Council was due to media scrutiny in regard to graft allegations against him. Mirwan claimed that he had requested the resignation himself.

“I did propose my resignation to the chairman,” said Mirwan at the DPR complex in Senayan, prior to a plenary meeting on Thursday.

Mirwan added that he had sent his resignation letter four months ago and the idea came from his family. According to Mirwan, his family felt uncomfortable with the public’s attention toward the legal case, which implicated him as the leader of the Budget Council.
