TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The Education Ministry has remained silent about alleged fraud and leakage of national exams answers. The government also refused to respond to the challenge by Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) to test the accuracy level of the answer key to the exams found by the ICW.
“We are processing [the issue] through the National Board for Educational Standards and the Center for Educational Evaluations [Puspendik],” said the ministry’s spokesman Ibnu Hamad in Jakarta on Thursday.
ICW coordinator for public service monitoring Febri Hendri said that he was yet to receive a response from the ministry in regard to the alleged fraud. The report was sent to the National Education Ministry on Friday, April 27, when anti-graft activists visited the ministry’s office to hand over the answer key for the national exams. The material included the answers for the junior high school mathematics exam that was leaked a day prior to the exam.
ICW has evaluated the answer key and confirmed that it has a high accuracy level. ICW then requested the ministry test the answer key and match it to the actual answer key. “So far, it has not been verified,” Febri added.
