Indonesian Legislators Visit Berlin’s Lafayette Shops

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Members of the House of Representatives’ (DPR) Defense and Foreign Affairs Commission visited one of Germany’s oldest shopping centers at Kaufhaus des Westens (KaDeWe), in Kudam district, West Berlin, during their current trip to the country. The group also visited Berlin’s famous shopping gallery, Lafayette.
“Our friends found [the commission members] shopping at the gallery on Monday and Tuesday,” Berlin Indonesian Student Association (PPI) head Wony Utami, told Tempo via telephone on Thursday.
Ten Commission I members are currently in Germany. They include Tri Tamtomo from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) as well as Nurhayati Ali Assegaf, Hayono Isman and Vena Melinda, from the Democrat Party. Ahmed Zaki Iskandar Zulkarnain, Muchammad Ruslan, Neil Iskandar Daulay, Tantowi Yahya and Yorrys Raweyai from Golkar and Luthfi Hasan Ishaaq from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) are also among the group.
