Dirgantara Indonesia and Airbus Eyeing Asian Market

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Aircraft manufacturers Dirgantara Indonesia and Airbus Military have agreed to develop their Asia-Pacific market. Cooperation between the two companies was signed on Wednesday and is effective for the next 18 months—the deal is worth US$325 million.
The deal, according to Dirgantara Indonesia CEO, was part of the company’s revitalization effort. “We will gain transfer of technology from Airbus Military,” said the CEO on Wednesday.
The most immediate plan is to complete the order of nine CN295 aircraft. In Oct. 2011, both companies have signed initial cooperation agreement. Dirgantara Indonesia and Airbus Military have also prepared a location for the final stages of aircraft assembly process which will begin its operation by the end of 2013.
