Motorcycle Gang Arrests Only a Matter of Time, Police Say

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The police said that the investigation of a series of attacks committed by a motorcycle gang was not a complicated issue. “[The arrest] is only a matter of time,” said Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto on Monday.

Rikwanto explained that the Jakarta Police is maintaining coordination with the Military Police of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) from the Navy with regard to the case. “The coordination is conducted with regard to whether or not there was a navy member involved in this case,” said the spokesman.

As reported earlier, the attacks committed by a motorcycle gang consisting of a group of men, who word ribbons of yellow, resulted in two fatalities, and left dozens of other people injured. In all incidents—Sat, Apr. 7, Sun, Apr. 8, and Fri. Apr. 13—the gang also vandalized vehicles.
