Naval Officer Assaulted by Unidentified Attackers

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said that Naval officer Arifin Siri had been attacked by unidentified men in Pademangan, North Jakarta recently.

Arifin had been stationed at the primary naval offices on Jalan Gunung Sahari, Central Jakarta. “The victim was a naval officer and an administration staffer at the West Region Maritime Squad,” said Rikwanto on Tuesday.

Rikwanto added that the assault on Arifin has allegedly been the source of a chain of violence in some regions in Jakarta—the motive was revenge. “Incidents in Sunter and Kemayoran were the impact of the assault in Pademangan,” said the spokesman. He was reporting to gang violence in the nearby areas of Sunter and Kemayoran.
