TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has been urged to immediately question bribery suspect Angelina Sondakh over her alleged involvement in the SEA Games athletes’ village construction project in Jakabaring, Palembang. The pressure arose following the prosecutor’s indictments during trial against defendant Muhammad Nazaruddin two days ago which revealed Angelina’s involvement in the athletes’ village case.
Since being declared as suspect two months ago, Angelina has not been interrogated at all. “Since the prosecutor has mentioned it in the indictments, the KPK must immediately question Angelina,” said Ifdzil Ilham, analyst from the Center for Anti-Graft Studies at the Gadjah Mada University, on Tuesday. “If Angelina is not immediately questioned, the prosecutor can be regarded to have publicly proclaimed [public] lies.”
Ifdzil asserted that, in order to prove indictments against Nazaruddin, the KPK must immediately interrogate Angelina, who is a member of the House of Representatives (DPR) from the ruling Democrat Party. Angelina’s questioning as a suspect will prove that Nazaruddin’s accusation - that the investigation has been restricted to him alone - is mistaken.
