Constitutional Court Ready to Review Article on Fuel Price

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The Constitutional Court has expressed its readiness in conducting a judicial review on the article related to fuel price hikes plan. The court said that it will not be influenced by currently the opinions currently developing.

Constitutional Court spokesman Akil Mochtar said that the court allows citizens to propose judicial review on the 2012 State Budget Law which stipulates fuel price hikes. “The Constitutional Court, as a judiciary institution, is ready to conduct legal proceedings on the matter according to the procedures which apply to judicial review process,” said the spokesman via text messaging on Sunday.

Akil refused to comment further on the plan to conduct judicial review as proposed by some elements in the community. “The judges are not allowed to give comments,” said the spokesman.
