Ajib Hamdani’s Account Still under Investigation

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The police have yet to declare Ajib Hamdani, 32, a suspect with regard to the bribery case and data forgery of taxed land and building. National Police spokesman Brig. Gen. Muhammad Taufik said the case is still under investigation by the Criminal Detective Division. “Not yet a suspect, still under investigation,” said the spokesman on Monday.

Taufik is reluctant to specify some witnesses and evidence being investigated. As a matter of fact, Ajib is a category III-A taxman at the Pratama Kelapa Gading Tax Office, North Jakarta. Ajib is allegedly involved in the forgery of land and building data.

The scheme was executed to cut taxes on those assets. The certificate is divided into five parts but only one of them is reported. As a result, tax amount becomes lower. State revenues in 2008 and 2009 have decreased from the expected Rp6.8 billion due to this report manipulation.
