TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Ali Mudhori, a politician from the National Awakening Party (PKB), finally took the stand as witness at the Jakarta Anti-Graft Court (Tipikor) on Monday evening for the Rp1.5-billion bribery scandal allegedly involving Manpower Ministry at the Jakarta Anti-Graft Court (Tipikor) on Monday evening.
Officers from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) have managed to pick up the Lumajang Regency PKB chairman and former assistance staff of Manpower Minister Muhaimin Iskandar when Ali was leaving from Surabaya to Jakarta. KPK spokesman Johan Budi S.P. said that he has no information on where Ali was picked up. “Ali was picked up, not arrested,” said the spokesman via text messaging.
Ali has failed to present himself as witness in court twice. Ali was scheduled to testify against defendant I Nyoman Suisnaya and Dadong Irbarelawan. With the help from police at the Lumajang Precinct, East Java, the KPK was informed that Ali was somewhere in the middle of a forest. Last week, KPK subpoenaed Ali for the third time at his residence in Lumajang. Ali was not home, so, the letter was given to the neighbor unit chief. Ali still did not show up for trial on Monday afternoon.
