TEMPO Interactive, Semarang, Central Java:Dani Sriyanto, the Central Java Democrat Party Regional Leadership Board secretary, has claimed that Andi Mallarangeng’s supporting team had also distributed money to party administrators in the branch level. The money was allegedly distributed during the 2010 Democrat Party Congress in Bandung. “AM [Andi Mallarangeng] gave accommodation and other fees totaling Rp5 million per congress attendee,” Dani said in Semarang on Monday.
Dani Sriyanto is a former member of the supporting team for Andi Mallarangeng in Andi’s running for chairmanship in the congress. Dani claimed the Rp5 million was distributed by Andi’s supporting team not for branch leaders but for congress attendees who were branch administrators. The money was given in two installments: when the congress attendees were still in Jakarta and when they have arrived at the congress.
From Central Java, according to Dani, out of 35 branch administrators, only 11 branches supported Andi Mallarangeng—those who allegedly received the money. Dani said the money distribution was legal and did not violate any regulations because there is a policy which stipulated that candidates for chairmanship are allowed to provide accommodation allowances of no more than Rp10 million for congress attendees.
