Airports aim for International Standard

TEMPO Interactive, MAROS:With a capacity of seven million passengers, but 7.5 million visitors last year, Makassar’s Sultan Hasanuddin Airport is operating over capacity.
“As of this year, we will focus on improving the airport service so that it will have international standard,” said PT Angkasa Pura I general manager, Rachman Safrie, during the company’s 48th anniversary celebration yesterday.
Rachman said the old management was focused on increasing profits by reducing expenses. However, this year the system will be focus on improving passenger services by maximizing budget spending.
According to Rachman, the company has disbursed Rp6 trillion to improve numerous airports in Indonesia, including Hasanuddin.
