Where is the Long-Awaited Fuel Restrictions Policy?
Wednesday, 15 February, 2012 | 13:31 WIB
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:State oil-company Pertamina has yet to establish any regulation as stipulated in Presidential Decree No. 15/2012 on Price of Fuel for Retail and Consumer Use.
Djaelani Sutomo, Pertamina Marketing and Trading director, said that the regulation still applies generally in relation to subsidized fuel policy.
Therefore, Pertamina is still waiting for the derivative of the regulation from the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry on subsidized fuel saving policy. “The Presidential Decree was created in general form and, therefore, to implement it, a Ministerial Decree is issued,” said Djaelani on Tuesday.
The regulation, signed on Feb. 7, did not specify ways to restrict subsidized fuel usage nor mentioned anything about price hike because the ‘general’ regulation allowed both fuel conversion effort and price hike. “But we don’t know when,” Djaelani added.
