New Housing for Orphans in Bandung

TEMPO Interactive, BANDUNG:An apartment for orphans has been built in Bandung. It was initiated by the Orphan Home Foundation and funded by donations from the public as well as ring-back tone sales.

Foundation director, Ahmad Jaeni, said 17,929 people had donated money to construction of the apartment. He said it took two years to complete the construction. “The construction began in 2010,” he said.

Jaeni said the housing included study rooms and computer labs. “We want to change the paradigm that an orphanage is dirty,” he said.
