Govt Buys Presidential Plane

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The government has confirmed it will buy a presidential plane without using a loan. “It will be purchased with funds from the budget with a multi-year payment system that has been approved by the finance minister,” the State Secretary Minister’s secretary, Lambock V. Nahattands, said yesterday.

The Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) 2, which has been handed in a form of green aircraft (an airplane without cabin equipment), is worth US$58.6 million. “The payment will be made in three stages,” said Lambock.

In 2012, US$ 17.062 was allocated for the procurement of airplane cabin interior.
