More Shootings Occur in Puncak Jaya

TEMPO Interactive, Jayapura, Papua:Another shooting incident committed by armed group in Mulia, Puncak Jaya Regency, Papua, occurred on Thursday at 09.30 local time. The victim is a motorcycle-taxi driver who had just dropped off his passenger. “The victim has been evacuated to Jayapura,” said Adj. Sr. Comr. Alex Korwa, Chief of the Puncak Jaya Regency Sub-precinct, on Thursday.
According to Alex, the shooting broke out when four motorcycle-taxi drivers were dropping off their passengers from the Wuyukwi market to the Kurilik Village. After dropping off their passengers at the Kurilik Village, the four drivers returned to their base through the same route.
When they arrived at the Kurilik brigde, located at the far side of the village, at around 09.30 local time, they were intercepted by an unknown group who shot and stabbed them. One person was injured and three others survived. “Earlier, one driver was reported missing, but, he’s been found,” said the police chief.
