US’s Sport Glove Brand to Open Third Factory in Indonesia

TEMPO Interactive, Sleman, Yogyakarta:American company PT Sport Glove Indonesia, a manufacturer of leather and sport gloves, is opening a third factory in Margoluwih Village, Sleman, Yogyakarta.

“We hope to reduce the unemployment rate in Sleman and put Sleman on the global map,” said commissioner Mark Cristoper Robba on Monday.

Sleman Regent Sri Purnomo said the opening of the factory signaled an improving investment climate in Sleman. “So, it is not true that Sleman is unsafe,” said the regent. Sri Purnomo, adding that the company was prioritizing on recruiting workers from Sleman.
