More Bombs Found at Bima Boarding School

TEMPO Interactive, Mataram:Police found explosive devices and other bomb-making materials allegedly used to create bombs at the Gunung Batu Pahat Hill in Bima. The materials included iron pipes, one unit of nine-volt battery, cellular phone battery, gas stove regulator complete with timed lighter, and some wires. “There are two active [bombs]” said the Bima Police Chief Adjunct Sr. Comr. Fauza Barito said on Tuesday.

The bomb was found after police arrested a teacher at the Umar bin Khattab Islamic Boarding School. The teacher was identiied as Ustad Furqan. Furqan, 34, turned himself in accompanied by his parents. Furqan confessed to police that the materials were kept inside the boarding school, but, since one of the bombs exploded and killed Firdaus, the bomb and its circuit were removed.
